Weddings and Romantic Getaways at Half Moon

Half Moon is one of Jamaica’s top destination resorts, a place you can check into and be perfectly happy until you’re ready to depart. In fact, there’s no reason not to be: facilities here include a shopping village, hospital, dolphin swims, a golf course, and equestrian center.

If you dream of black and white elegance, Half Moon is your place. This beach resort forgoes the usual tropical decor in favor of sheer black and white. Rooms, from hotel rooms to cottages to villas, range from large to ultra-expansive, all chic and sophisticated.

What started out in 1954 as a group of private beach cottages offered for rent during off-season months has blossomed into one of Jamaica's most extensive resorts. Those beach cottages are still available and--just steps away from the sand as well as public areas--remain a great choice for couples. We stayed in the cottages on our last stay and loved the easy proximity both to the public areas and to the beach. Some rooms are a long walk from public areas although a call can arrange for a golf cart pickup.

Along with beach cottages, you'll also find many other room categories.The most luxurious are the villas (left), great for wedding parties or several couples traveling together. The villas come with a private golf cart for your use.

Weddings at Half Moon

The resort offers several wedding packages, with and without accommodations.The packages start with the "One Love" option with all the necessities for the wedding: marriage officer, witnesses, tropical bridal bouquet, boutonniere, corsage for mothers, cake, champagne, photos and video and a gift bag. You can turn the wedding into a honeymoon with the "Just the Two of Us" package with accommodations for six nights, champagne, wedding cake, breakfast in bed, a wedding photo, room upgrade, and more. Larger packages add even more goodies as well as room nights for your guests.

Dolphin Swim

Half Moon is the Caribbean's only resort with a private dolphin experience. The Dolphin Lagoon is home to four dolphins available for swims and encounters with resort guests only.

If You're Taking a Romantic Trip with Kids:

Taking a romantic trip--or a destination wedding--with kids in the group? Half Moon also offers a supervised kids’ center, available for potty trained children ages three and over. The facility includes a kids’ pool, video games, and shaded playground. Babysitting is also available. Other kids’ facilities at the property include children’s bikes for rent (you’ll find bike paths winding through the resort), a game room with a miniature table tennis set, and more. Children are welcomed in all the restaurants; the main Seagrape Terrace restaurant offers a special kids’ menu and early seatings. Also, children age 12 and under stay free in their parents’ room (except during the week of winter holidays).
