Sandra Bullock and Jesse James Wed in California Who: actress
Sandra Bullock and "Monster Garage" host Jesse James When: July
16, 2005 Where: Vows
were exchanged at sunset on the grounds of The Folded Hills
Ranch in Gaviota, California. The Ceremony:
On leads held by the groom's children from a previous union,
Sandra Bullock's faithful canine companions trotted down an
aisle carpeted in perfumed rose petals before the bride made
her entrance on the arm of her father. The presence of the star's
late mother was felt in the hearts of all those in attendance
as her operatic voice, singing "Casta Diva," escorted
her daughter toward her husband-to-be, who slipped a Neil Lane
platinum band adorned with two square-cut diamonds on to his
bride's finger as two female officiants looked on. During the
20-minute ceremony guests, who sat upon bales of hay draped
with horse blankets, bore witness as the bride also presented
her intended with a ring-- a labor of love fashioned by her
own hands out of stainless steel. The Dress:
In stark contrast to the bucolic atmosphere, the bride's Angel
Sanchez gown was romantic blend of antique lace and silk tulle.
Harmonizing with the surroundings, however, were the bride's
white satin cowboy boots, which peeked out from beneath the
gown's toile hem, and her bouquet of deep red roses, bound together
with a leather strap. The groom's beige
suite and Tony Murga cowboy boots created a winning combination
of city sophistication and country sensibility. The Reception:
A star-studded lineup including Hugh Grant, Keanu Reeves, William
Shatner and Metallica frontman James Hetfield enjoyed the crooning
of the band Cousin Lovers as they helped themselves to Southern-style
barbeque and macaroni and cheese with slices of a four-tiered
carrot cake created by the bride's sister for dessert. The Honeymoon:
At the conclusion of the festivities the newlyweds spent the
first night of their honeymoon in the Kennedy Cottage at The
San Ysidro Ranch, a self-standing lodge on the estate named
in honor of the former president and his wife, who also began
their days as Mr. and Mrs. at the ranch. The venue is a popular
romantic retreat for Hollywood's elite, and over the years the
site has been chosen by both Jennifer Lopez and
Julia Roberts as a honeymoon locale, while Sir Laurence
Olivier and Vivien Leigh, Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay lead
singer Chris Martin as well as "Charmed" cast member
Holly Marie Combs utilized the site for their nuptials. The couple packed
their bags the following day, leaving the tranquility of the
Montecito resort for the bright lights of Las Vegas, checking
into a suite at Mandalay Bay, where guests can try their luck
at poker, roulette and baccarat in a 135,000 sq. foot casino,
or indulge themselves with a variety of spa treatments ranging
from aromatherapy to deep tissue massage. During their stay in the area, several of the wedding's famous attendees lodged at The San Ysidro Ranch or the Bacara Resort, a Santa Barbara sanctuary chosen as the wedding locale of such notables as John O'Hurley ("Dancing With The Stars"), Yasmine Bleeth ("Baywatch") and Blink-182's Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler from MTV's "Meet The Barkers".
