Swimmers Dive into Matrimony
Olympic swimmer Pieter van
den Hoogenband, a gold medalist in both the 2000 Sydney games and the
2004 Athens competition, decided to dive into matrimony on August 23,
2005 with his long time love, fellow Olympic swimmer Minouche Smit.
Declaring their love at
Henkenshage Castle, a 14th century edifice in Sint-Oedenrode, North
Brabant, The Netherlands, it was only fitting that the bride wear a
fairytale gown consisting of a multi-layered ballgown skirt and a form-fitting,
strapless bodice embellished with gold embroidery. The groom opted for
a beige suit paired with a champagne-colored tie.
