Who: "Lord
of The Rings" star Miranda Otto and actor Peter O'Brien When: January
1, 2003 Where: St.
Mary's Cathedral in Sydney, Australia The Ceremony: New Year's Day was the dawn of a new life together for the two
thespians, who had met while appearing in a production of "A
Doll's House." Both native Australians, St. Mary's Cathedral
in Sydney was a natural choice for the couple, and while the
rain beat down upon the massive twin spires of the Gothic-revival
house of worship overlooking Hyde Park, the pair pledged their
love in a ninety minute Catholic ceremony attended by sixty
guests. The Dress: Protecting herself from the rain, the actress hid beneath the shelter of an umbrella as she emerged from the 19th century sandstone cathedral wearing an off-white gown composed of dupioni silk. Dainty blue and yellow blossoms adorned her blonde tresses and were attached to a diaphanous veil. The bride carried a small nosegay comprised of blushing pink roses interspersed with dark green leaves, while the groom added a dash of color to his black suit and tie with a yellow carnation boutonniere.
