Where: The ceremony was held at Santa Monica's Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California. The site is a familiar one to movie buffs, who will recognize the parish from "Going My Way", the 1944 film starring legendary crooner Bing Crosby.

The Ceremony: The forty-five minute Catholic service was the perfect birthday present for the bride, who turned thirty the day after the nuptials. The day was made even more special with the inclusion of Lucy's nine year old daughter Daisy as a bridesmaid, and with celebrity guests Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and Renee O'Connor, her Xena co-star, in attendance.

The Dress: Lucy Lawless was transformed from warrior princess to fairy tale princess with the help of New Zealand costume designer Ngila Dickson, who concocted many of Xena's outfits and would later earn an Academy Award for her work on the Lord of The Rings trilogy. The off the shoulder ivory-colored satin gown was embellished with beadwork, and a twelve-foot train cascaded down the aisle as the bride made her way to the altar.

The Reception: A Rolls Royce whisked the newlyweds to the "Pretty Woman" suite at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where nearly 300 guests dined on lobster, salmon, lamb, and a multi-layered cream-cheese wedding cake decorated with pink frosting and garnished with delicate white seashells. The nautical theme continued with a cake topper featuring not the traditional bride and groom, but rather a mermaid and Poseidon. The groom's love of the ocean was reflected with the choice of "Beyond The Sea" as the song for the couple's first dance.

Special Touches: The happy couple shared their love by giving volumes of their most-treasured love poems to all the guests, and thousands of dollars worth of chrysanthemums and lilacs were left at the church in order to beautify the wedding day of the next couple who would join in holy matrimony at the parish.
