Who: actor
Kevin Weisman (Marshall Flinkman on the spy drama "Alias")
and preschool teacher Jodi Tanowitz When: May
22, 2005 Where: Vows
were exchanged at Menlo Circus Club, a members-only facility
in Atherton, California. Pre-wedding Festivities:
Guests of the wedding party settled in to their rooms at the
Hotel Valencia, a San Jose establishment offering 211 rooms
housed in an atmosphere which exudes European elegance, before
attending a rehearsal dinner held at Left Bank, a San Jose eatery
which provides French-influenced fare to its patrons. The Ceremony:
The couple's Jewish ceremony struck a harmonious balance between
age old tradition and the modern desire to place a unique stamp
on their nuptials. Beneath a chuppah, Jodi honored their heritage
by circling her intended seven times, symbolically constructing
an area where their two lives will be eternally linked in accordance
with Old Testament teaching that the world was built in seven
days. Later in the ceremony the groom, an avid music lover with
his own band, chose the words of an Eskimo love song to express
his love for his bride. The Dress:
A chapel-length, diaphanous viel was paired with a white, strapless
gown which was the essence of refined simplicity. The Reception:
Two hundred attendees toasted the newlyweds with blue martinis
as the groom jumped on stage with his group Trainwreck to perform
eighties dance tunes. Parting Gifts: Each guest walked away with a lasting memory-- a rose embellished with a photo of the bride and groom from Speaking Roses, a company which imprints photos or expressions of love on the perfumed petals of fresh roses. Silk and preserved roses are also available.
