The Ceremony: "Rest and relaxation" was the
mantra for this celebrity wedding-- a three-day event held at
The La Quinta Resort and Club, a venue discovered by the bride
as she surfed the net. During their stay the happy couple, along
with sixty invited guests, indulged themselved with a variety
of spa treatments offered by the resort, such as aroma lounges,
whirlpool baths, and facials. The mellow mood continued at the
brief outdoor ceremony as the bride walked down an aisle
sprinkled with delicate rose petals while the ethereal
sounds of a harp echoed on the grounds of the resort and up
into the towering Santa Rosa Mountains, which witnessed
the ceremony in the distance.
The Dress: The bride said "I do" in a traditional
white, full-skirted Badgley Mishka strapless gown, which was
studded with pearls and crystals which captured the sunlight.
A four carat, diamond drop necklace added extra sparkle and
placed emphasis on the gown's decolletage. To combat the sweltering
heat that June day, the groom's attire consisted of an open
collar, white shirt and black jacket supplied by Hugo Boss.
The Reception: Golf carts were used to whisk this modern
fairy tale prince and princess, along with their entourage,
to the resort's clubhouse. There celebrity
guests, including Kerr's "Dawson's Creek" co-stars
Joshua Jackson, Meredith Monroe, and Katie Holmes and her beau,
actor Chris Klein, dined on beef tenderloin and salmon. The
white, triple-layered sponge cake, which was concocted by the
catering staff at The La Quinta Resort and Club, was further
embellished with three hundred roses in varying hues of red,
which encircled each tier. The color of passion was a running
motif for the reception area, and was reflected in crimson velvet
drapery and rose centerpieces. A multitude of purple pillar
candles illuminated the darkened room, completing the romantic
ambiance.
