Who: actress Julia Roberts and Danny Moder

When: July 4, 2002

Where: The ceremony took place on the grounds of the bride's 82-acre ranch in Taos, New Mexico

The Ceremony: Minutes after the clock struck midnight, the bride and groom stepped into a ring of rose petals that lay outside the 19th century adobe chapel, located on the actress' ranch in Taos. Sixty witnesses, who came to the locale under the pretense of a Fourth of July celebration, watched in the glow of candlelight and Chinese lanterns as the groom once again knelt on one knee, asking the "Pretty Woman" for her hand in marriage before the commencement of a twenty minute ceremony.

The dress: In keeping with the sultry mid-summer atmosphere, the couple chose a warm palette for their wedding attire. Designer Judith Beylerian, based in The City of Angels, concocted a blushing pink cotton dress garnished with pearls, beading, and hand-painted blossoms that echoed the nuptial's outdoor theme. The movie queen's crowning glory was a unique wire circlet adorned with pearls, antique buttons and cut glass, which reflected the candlelight. Eschewing the traditional tuxedo, the groom opted for beige trousers and a red shirt embellished with ruffles.

The food:
No Fourth of July celebration would be complete without hot dogs and hamburgers, and the menu at this holiday wedding did not disappoint the guests. Other edible options offered by caterers The Wooden Spoon included lemon chicken, steak shish kabobs and corn on the cob. One cake composed of decadent chocolate and raspberries and covered in yellow icing was available, as were four others that were lemon flavored and decorated in icing that matched the bride's gown.

The Reception: Tunes by Sade, Gloria Gaynor and Bob Marley wafted in the air in the early morning hours, courtesy of a CD player. The following night, guests partied to live music provided by The Toni Price Band, who call the capital of Texas home. Songs on the roster included "Chain of Fools" and "Hound Dog" before the pace slowed with the ballad "Don't You Think I Feel It, Too?" At the conclusion of the holiday festivities, fireworks illuminated the star-studded New Mexico sky.
