Who: movie
star Julia Roberts and country singer Lyle Lovett When: June
27, 1993 Where: St.
James Lutheran Church in Marion, Indiana The Ceremony:
Two flower girls in floral print dresses preceeded the barefoot
bride down the aisle, scattering a carpet of blossoms from small
woven baskets on to the floor of the otherwise unadorned chapel.
The small-town community atmosphere suited the couple, who chose
the locale due to its proximity to the groom's next scheduled
performance, and with actors Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon
as the only link to Hollywood the bride and groom exchanged
vows in an intimate ceremony witnessed by family members. The Dress: Simplicity was the key word for the Pretty Woman's bridal ensemble, which was personally picked beforehand by the groom. The actress donned an understated white slip dress and wore no embellishing accoutrements. To frame her famous face, the bride wrapped a diaphanous veil around her head like a scarf, and in her hands she carried a cascading bouquet.
