Who: mogul Donald Trump and Melania Knauss

When: January 22, 2005

Where: The nuptials were held at The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-By-The Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, a Gothic-styled church built in 1889.

The Ceremony: Clutching a rosary in lieu of a bouquet, the bride walked alone down the aisle of the 19th century house of worship to the reverent refrain of "Ave Maria". In a display of family solidarity, the only attendants in the wedding party were Melania's sister, who carried a small nosegay of white roses, and Donald Trump's two sons, who stood by their father as best men. Taking the hand of her intended, the couple stood at the altar beneath a large Te Deum stained glass window for a thirty-minute evening ceremony in which the groom presented his love with a wedding band from Graff, the jewelers which also provided the bride's 15 carat, $1.5 million dollar emerald cut engagement ring.

The Dress: In an homage to America's royal family, the bride's gown conjured up memories of Jacqueline Kennedy's wedding ensemble. Concocted by the house of Christian Dior, the bride was swathed in three hundred feet of white satin encrusted with 1,500 crystals and pearls. The fifty pound creation, which inlcuded a thirteen foot long train and sixteen foot long diaphanous veil, was too cumbersome for post-wedding festivities, and Melania changed into a Vera Wang gown after the couple took to the ballroom floor to sway to the strains of The Theme from Madame Butterfly, their first dance as husband and wife.

Tradition: "Something old"-- the bride's rosary.
"Something new"-- the bride's reported $200,000 wedding attire.
"Something borrowed"-- Fred Leighton jewelers lent an ornate diamond necklace.
"Something blue"-- Unbenownst to the guests, the bride wore blue intimate apparel by La Perla.

The Reception: A black stretch Mercedes-Benz Maybach limosine took the couple past the throng of wellwishers who had flocked outside the chapel to the Trump estate, Mar-A-Lago, only two miles away. Approximately four hundred guests with coveted Tiffany and Co. embossed invitations entered the 11,000 ft. ballroom which had been infused with the spirit of Versailles, complete with seventeen chandeliers and 24 carat gold embellishments. Guests including Shaquille O'Neal, Barbara Walters, newlyweds Star Jones and her husband Al Reynolds, Heidi Klum, and Katie Couric dined on such delicacies as foie gras toast with papaya mustard, caviar beggar's roll with gold leaf, steamed shrimp and filet mignon with green peppercorn sauce washed down with Cristal champagne before nibbling on the seven-tiered, fifty pound buttercream cake adorned with a garden of white icing blossoms.
