The Proposal: When the former "Law and Order" actor asked for his loved one's hand in marriage in February 2002, the couple decided to seal their love with a matching engagement gift to each other-- gold engraved pendants by New York jewelry designer Caroline Ellen.

Pre-wedding Festivities: The day before the nuptials a few close friends gathered together to toast to the groom's happiness at The Slanted Door, a Vietnamese restaurant in San Francisco.

The Ceremony: Acting as officiant at her son's ceremony, memories of her native country surely came flooding back to the groom's mother (a Peruvian Indian born in Lima) when the haunting echo of a Peruvian flute heralded the arrival of the bride, who was escorted to her intended by her own mother. Twenty guests, including the groom's brother, who stood by the actor as best man, and the bride's sister, on hand to perform maid of honor duties, stood on the hillside with the city at their feet, listening to the couple's personalized words of love.

The Dress: Proving that Cinderella slippers are not necessary to create a fairytale effect, the bride donned a pair of flip-flops along with a full-length white satin chiffon gown with a scoop neck, empire waist and a matching wrap to ward off the chill from the wind which swept across the bay. In keeping with the relaxed mood of the day, the bride wore her brunette locks pulled back in a ponytail and carried a small nosegay of white roses.

Benjamin's exotic good looks, which often lands the actor on People Magazine's list of the 50 Most Beautiful People, were enhanced with a black suit by American designer Calvin Klein, which was paired with an unbuttoned white shirt.
