The
Wedding of Felicity Huffman & William H. Macy
Who: "Desperate
Housewives" star Felicity Huffman and actor William H.
Macy ("Fargo")
When: September
6, 1997
Where: The
couple were united in matrimony on the groom's family estate
in Woody Creek, Colorado.
The Ceremony: Two photographers captured the occasion for posterity in both
color and black and white as the bride and groom slipped bands
of gold upon each other's ring fingers and pledged their eternal
devotion through self-penned vows during an outdoor ceremony
witnessed by 180 guests. At the conclusion of the service, the
newly dubbed husband and wife walked up the aisle to the jubilant
beat of James Brown's "I Feel Good."
The Dress: The
groom later confessed that he became misty eyed when he saw
his bride walk toward him in a Mon Atelier ivory peau de soie
gown. A halo of silk blossoms attached to Felicity's blonde
locks harmonized with her bouquet, a composition by florists
Aspen Branch of pale pink roses, baby blue delphinium, hydrangeas
and anemone.
In keeping with
the event's blue theme, Felicity's 11 bridesmaid's donned indigo
dresses by American designer Nicole Miller, whose creations
are a red carpet favorite with such celebrities as Paris Hilton,
Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie. Dainty pearl stud earrings
and Mon Atelier chiffon stoles, gifts from the bride, completed
the look.
The pristine white
of the groom's Mon Atelier wool gabardine suit, reminiscent
of the Colorado snow which blankets the ground of his Woody
Creek home each winter, was offset with a blue cornflower boutonniere.
The Reception: Guests including Camryn Mannheim of "The Practice"
and Kristen Johnston of "3rd Rock From The Sun" dined
on food prepared by the chefs at the Hotel Jerome, one of Aspen's
premier establishments, beneath a white tent erected on the
grounds of the estate. Nature's beauty was brought inside with
centerpiece arrangements comprised of hydrangeas, blue delphiniums
and anemone interspersed with ivy.

Touch To Your Ceremony: One of the musical compositions
performed during the nuptials was "Wedding On The Mountain,"
a poignant instrumental written for the couple which paints
a musical portrait of the love they share. The tune can be found
on Robin Spielberg's CD, "Dreaming of Summer."
