The Wedding of Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa

Who: singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa

When: February 22, 1997

Where: The couple exchanged vows on the grounds of a friend's Miami home.

The Ceremony: The bride peered out from beneath a fingertip tulle veil as she made her way on her father's arm past 200 guests, including directors Oliver Stone and Gregory Nava and actor Edward James Olmos, who portrayed the patriarch of the Quintanilla family in Jennifer's breakout movie "Selena", who had assembled to witness the couple pledge their love in a 30-minute, bilingual Catholic ceremony.

The Dress: Clutching a bouquet comprised of white roses, orchids and stephanotis, the bride said "I do" in a scooped-neck, ivory Escada wedding dress fashioned with a plunging back and lace along the sides and sweeping train which juxtaposed the demure appearance of the front of the gown. Diamond teardrop earrings added sparkle, while the white blossoms which adorned the entertainer's upswept hairdo brought a regal touch to her appearance.

Acting as bridesmaids, the singer's sisters were swathed in pastel-toned sheath dresses with delicate spaghetti straps by Escada. Nosegays mirroring the bride's bouquet helped to harmonize the look of the wedding party.

A February wedding date allowed the groom to don a black velvet Versace tuxedo in the Miami sunshine. Paired with a black bow tie, Ojani was the picture of Old Hollywood elegance as he wed the future Queen of Tinseltown.

The Reception: Known for her love for the color white, Jennifer's passion for purity was evident in cascading centerpieces composed of white roses, Casa Blanca lilies and fragrant gardenias which were placed within the candelabras that graced the tables where guests dined on typical Cuban fare from Gloria Estefan's restarant Lario's On The Beach, including seafood creole, pork loin, pasteles and black beans and rice. Sampling slices of a six-tiered, white vanilla wedding cake accented with a virtual garden of sugar roses, attendees sipped Havana Club rum as they watched the newly pronounced husband and wife take to the dance floor as the strains of "El Dia Que Me Quieras" floated through the air. As the song faded, the bride took hold of her father's hand to dance to "Wind Beneath My Wings".
