June 2005--Soccer star Ashley Cole has made his eight-month romance with Girls Aloud band member Cheryl Tweedy official with a square-cut diamond engagement ring, which the sports figure presented on bended knee after a camel ride across the sands of Dubai. The bride-to-be, an integral part of one of Britain's top pop groups (which was heard by American audiences on the soundtrack of "Love, Actually"), and the prospective groom have not set a wedding date.
