Archived News: Jack White Weds
Known for creating a theatrical impact in his band's
music videos, Jack White of The White Stripes chose the juncture of
three rivers in Manaus, Brazil to symbolize the joining of his life
with that of model Karen Elson on June 1, 2005. Standing in a canoe
along with the band's drummer Meg White, who acted as maid of honor,
the pair were united by a Shaman priest in a ceremony which was followed
by a Catholic priest's blessing at Igreja Matriz, a 19th century house
of worship also referred to as Catedral de Nossa Senhora Conceiçao
(Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception).
Jemma Kidd Marries
After an 18-month engagement, model/make-up artist (and
former flame of Orlando Bloom) Jemma Kidd wed Arthur Mornington, the
Earl of Mornington, on June 3, 2005 in a seaside ceremony on the beach
near Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados. Vogue editor and fashion maven Anna
Wintour was among those who witnessed the union and joined in post-wedding
festivities at the home of the bride's family.
Amazing Race Competitors Wed
Ready for their next adventure, "Amazing Race 6"
winners Kendra Bentley and Freddy Holliday made a whimsical exit from
their Bal Harbour, Florida nuptials on a bicycle before jetting off
for a romantic Bali honeymoon. One hundred and five guests witnessed
the exchange of vows, which took place on May 27, 2005. The fashion
savvy bride, who is a professional model, designed her own wedding gown.
Billy Dean Weds
Country music heartthrob Billy Dean tied the knot with
Stephanie Paisley on May 7, 2005 in the picturesque setting of the Cheekwood
Botanical Gardens, located on a 55-acre estate in Nashville, Tennessee
which also houses the Cheekwood Museum of Art. The groom's children
from a previous union supported their father as best man and maid of
honor during the ceremony.
After guests had enjoyed themselves at the reception
the festivities were moved to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, where the
groom took a walk down memory lane as he played in a jam session with
the members of his first band, Hats and Boots.
Alias Co-Star Weds then Honeymoons in Hawaii
Ken Weisman, known to "Alias" viewers as lovable
technogeek Marshall Flinkman, wed preschool teacher Jodi Tanowitz in
a traditional Jewish ceremony held at the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton,
California on May 22, 2005. After a reception in which the groom's band
Trainwreck performed, the couple jetted off on a Hawaiian honeymoon.
Second Time Around Stars Wed in Germany
Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Parker, castmates on the now
defunct UPN series "Second Time Around,, recently exchanged vows
in the Black Forest region of Germany. The couple's baby daughter Sophie
was by their side as the two were pronounced husband and wife in the
town of Gundelfingen, near the groom's home town.
Amazing Race Couple Weds
The couple that travels together, stays together. Reality
TV personalities Ray Housteau and Deana Shane, teammates on CBS' "The
Amazing Race," recently said "I do" at the Trinity United
Methodist Church in Youngstown, Ohio. Newlywed Amber
Brkich, a fellow contestant on the program who wed her castmate
Rob Mariano, acted as a bridesmaid.
La Femme Nikita Weds
Actress Anne Parillaud, best known for her performance
in the thriller "La Femme Nikita," was united in marriage
with musician Jean-Michel Jarre on May 12, 2005. The mayor of Paris
presided over the ceremony, which took place in the town hall.
Kobe Bryant Vow Renewal
On April 21, 2005, their fourth wedding anniversary,
basketball superstar Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa Laine proved to
each other that their love had withstood a trial by fire by pledging
their devotion once again in a $50,000 recommitment ceremony held at
Crystal Cove Beach. As arranged by event planners Oh, How Charming,
the couple dined on chicken breast, mashed potatoes and asparagus beneath
the glow of crystal chandeliers after the intimate service.
A.J. Calloway Weds
No matter how diligently couples plan for their wedding,
it seems that there are always last minute details to tend to when the
special day arrives. Such was the case for A.J. Calloway, host of UPN's
"The Show With A.J. Calloway" and BET's "106 & Park",
who was spotted on April 23rd picking up items for his wedding ensemble
only hours before tying the knot with Barbados-born Dr. Lao Sealy in
an afternoon ceremony held at Columbia University's house of worship.
"Survivor" Wedding
Amber Brkich won more than the show's one million dollar
prize on the finale of "Survivor: All Stars"-- she also won
the heart of competitor Rob Mariano. The millions of television viewers
who watched the couple's on-air proposal can share in their joy when
CBS airs "Rob and Amber Get Married" on May 24, 2005. The
broadcast will follow the bride-to-be from her wedding shower at Seven
Oaks Country Club in Ohioville, Pennsylvania to her walk down the aisle
on April 16th at Atlantis Resort at Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Chad Michael Murray Marries
Chad Michael Murray may have been Hilary Duff's on-screen
knight in shining armor in the movie "A Cinderella Story",
but the WB star's real life "happily ever after" began on
April 17, 2005 when he married his "One Tree Hill" co-star
Sophia Bush. Pledging their love in an oceanside ceremony, the bride
looked every inch a fairytale princess in a white, strapless Vera
Wang creation, while the groom was the quintessence of classic Old
Hollywood style in a Ralph Lauren tuxedo. After the nuptials, family
and friends celebrated at a reception held at the 4-star Hotel Casa

Bobby Flay & Actress Wed
Nuptials at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in New York
City, followed by a refined culinary experience at a reception held
at the elite French restaurant "Daniel's" provided all the
ingredients necessary for a wedding day to remember for "Iron Chef
America" host Bobby Flay and his bride, former "Law and Order:
SVU" star Stephanie March, who were united in matrimony on February
20, 2005.
Brigitte Nielsen Marries--or Does She?
According to some resports, Brigitte Nielsen decided
in early March 2005 to test the matrimonial waters once again, both
figuratively and literally-- not with her "Strange Love" co-star
Flavor Flav, but rather with her beau of one year, Italian Mattia Dessi.
It has been reported that the couple, who live in Milan, professed their
devotion in a beachside service at a hotel in the Dominican Republic,
then immediately took to the hotel pool for a swim. Other reports say
there was no wedding.
Home Run for Baseball Pro
New York Mets catcher Mike Piazza hit a home run on January
29th, 2005 when he said "I do" to former pinup and "Baywatch"
babe Alicia Rickter during a candlelight ceremony held at St. Jude's
Catholic Church in Miami. Fellow former Playboy Playmates served as

Love springs eternal for 75-year-old golfing great Arnold
Palmer, who wed long time love Kathleen Gawthrop January 26, 2005 in
an intimate ceremony at a cottage on the beach at Turtle Bay Resort.
Motley Crue Member Weds
No more "Girls, Girls, Girls" in Vince Neil's
future. The lead singer of Motley Crue pledged his love to Lia Gerardini
on January 9, 2005 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. Fellow eighties
icon and castmate of "The Surreal Life" MC Hammer presided
over the ceremony, which was witnessed by the groom's bandmates Tommy
Lee and Nikki Sixx, as well as Dennis Rodman and Playboy Playmate Brande
Roderick.
Nas & Kelis Wed
Engaged since Christmas 2002, rapper Nas (Nasir Jones)
and "Milkshake" singer Kelis wed in an intimate ceremony in
Atlanta on January 8, 2005. The two have been inseparable since meeting
at a party held by rap and fashion mogul P Diddy.

Carradine Weds
The end of the year is a time for both goodbyes and new
beginnings, and "Kill Bill" star David Carradine said farewell
to 2004 by entering into a new phase of his life as husband to Annie
Berman. Surrounded by their children, the pair tied the knot in a relaxed
beachfront ceremony.
South Africa Ceremony
The former sister-in-law of Diana, Princess of Wales
was wed in a civil ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa on January 8.
Attended by over 150 guests, Victoria Spencer said "I do"
to ex-model Jonathan Aitken in the garden of their estate.
Madonna Renews Vows
Four years to the day after
their lavish ceremony at Skibo Castle, Madonna and Guy Ritchie pledged
their love once again in an intimate Kabbalah vow renewal held December
22 in the couple's Wiltshire, England abode. Among the guests to witness
the "Snatch" director slip a $190,000 ring from French jeweller
Fred on to the hand of The Material Girl were actress Gwyneth Paltrow,
her husband, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and baby Apple.
Vow Renewal
Love is even better the second time around, or so legendary
actor Robert DeNiro and his wife of eight years Grace Hightower
believe. Married since 1997, the two decided to declare their devotion
to each other again in a vow renewal ceremony held November 24, 2004
in the couple's home in the Catskill Mountains. Comedian Billy
Crystal, "My So-Called Life" star Clare Danes and
director Martin Scorsese were among the 160 guests wishing
the pair well.
Vegas Vows
What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Less
than a year after Britney Spears walked down the aisle of The Little
White Wedding Chapel for her first wedding, Christian Brando,
the son of the late actor Marlon Brando, stood at the altar of the same
Las Vegas wedding venue to wed Deborah Presley in a ceremony held in
early November.
Also held at a Vegas venue on October 29th was the Sin
City nuptials of actress Rebecca Gayheart, known for her
role in "Scream 2" and seen recently on "Nip/Tuck"
and actor Eric Dane. No other details were released.
Baywatch Bride
Former "Baywatch" babe Gena Lee
Nolin tied the knot with Canadian hockey player Cale Hulse
in an intimate ceremony held in early September at the Royal Palms Resort
near Phoenix. The guest list was an eclectic mix of childhood friends
and luminaries such as shock rocker Alice Cooper, sports
great Wayne Gretzky and fellow "Baywatch" star
David Hasselhoff.

Bride Plays a Bride
Engaged since December 2003, "She's All That"
star Rachael Leigh Cook wed actor Daniel Gillies
in a private ceremony held in August. Although no details were released
regarding the nuptials, Rachael's fans can see the actress play the
role of a bride in the aptly-titled upcoming film, "My First Wedding",
while the groom stars in the soon to be released movie "Bride and
Prejudice", from the creators of "Bend It Like Beckham".
Filmmaker Enjoys Vow Renewal
Writer/director Kevin Smith and wife Jennifer Schwalbach
Smith renewed their vows at Las Vegas' Little White Chapel. About 20
friends and members of the couple's family witnessed the ceremony.
