Lord Freddie Windsor and Actress Sophie Winkleman's Wedding
In the year 1543, the Chapel Royal of Hampton Court Palace echoed with the vows of King Henry VIII and Catherine Parr. Five hundred and sixty-six years later, on September 12, 2009, the former royal residence was once again a silent witness to the start of a new chapter in the ever-unfolding story of the British royal family as Lord Frederick Windsor, the 31st in line to the throne, said "I do" to an actress who once wore a crown as the mature version of Queen Susan the Gentle in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, TheWitch and The Wardrobe, Sophie Winkleman.
Approximately 350 friends and family members, including Princess Eugenie and Lady Helen Taylor, rose in honor of the bride, who clutched a bouquet of ivory-petaled roses as she made her grand entrance in a design by Anna Roza Bistroff for Roza. Her ballgown skirt and 10 ft. train gently sweeping the aisle with each step, the gown's Duchesse satin and silk taffeta was bathed in the warm glow of candlelight as she made her way to the altar.
According to the BBC, the reverential refrains of "Be Thou My Vision," "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind" and "I Vow To Thee My Country," a hymn performed at the 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, rang out inside the chapel during a ceremony which brought to fruition a Valentine's Day promise of a lifetime together.

Having accepted the role of a lifetime, on September 5, 2009 Italian actress Isabella Orsini walked the red carpet that led inside the Antoing church, where Prince Edouard Lamoral Rodolphe de Ligne de la Tremoille-- officially her husband for the past two days after their civil ceremony-- waited to once again declare his love for his bride.
Orsini, who was last seen on screen in Il Sangue e la Rosa (The Blood and The Rose), clutched a bouquet of crimson roses as she strolled down the aisle in a Gerald Watelet creation, the elegance of the ensemble was enhanced with the addition of a HollemensThiery tiara topped with aquamarines and diamonds, Fraticappuccini reports.
Following the exchange of vows, the peal of church bells announced the happy news to the village as the newlyweds waved to the well wishers who had gathered outside the Belgian house of worship. Cherubic children, their hair wreathed in halos of tiny roses, gathered round to watch the bride release a dove-- the sound of its beating wings no doubt matching that of the bride and groom's joy-filled hearts as they climbed into a carriage which whisked them away for post-wedding celebrations.
In childhood fairy tales the story would end once the heroine married her handsome prince. For Italian actress Isabella Orsini and Prince Edouard Lamoral Rodolphe de Ligne la Tremoille, however, their "I do's" on September 2, 2009 marked only the beginning of their happily ever after.
Dressed in a one-shoulder scarlet silhouette, the beaming bride stood my her husband's side and waved to well-wishers gathered outside the town hall in Hainaut, Antoing, Belgium moments after the civil ceremony.
The happy couple will once again pledge their love during a religious blessing of their union at chateau d'Antoing on September 5th.
Following in the footsteps of her elder sister Crown Princess Victoria, who accepted the proposal of her longtime love Daniel Westling in February, on August 11, 2009 the Swedish royal court proclaimed that the almost eight-year courtship of Princess Madeleine and Jonas Bergstrom has led to their betrothal.
Meeting with the media shortly after the official announcement at Solliden Palace-- the royal summer residence on the island of Oland-- the bride-to-be's beaming smile matched the sparkle of an engagement ring which the princess proudly displayed as the couple told that the prospective groom had knelt when asking for his love's hand in marriage on June 12th during a trip to Capri.
The third in line to the Swedish throne will have plenty of time to plan for her walk down the aisle, as Stockholm News reports that the couple's wedding will not take place until after both her sister's summer 2010 ceremony and the government elections. When the pair are joined in matrimony, Bergstrom will be presented with the title Duke of Halsingland and Gastrikland.
Although still more than one year away, no doubt bride-to-be Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden dreamed of her own June 19, 2010 "I do" with fiance Daniel Westling as the monarch in the making celebrated the union of Count Bjoern Bernadotte of Wisborg and Sandra Angerer on May 7, 2009.
Having already made their marriage official in a civil ceremony on April 25th, the happy newlyweds received a religious blessing of their love inside a castle church on the Mainau, Germany estate owned by the groom's family, Hello! magazine reports.
As family and friends looked on, tiny attendants-- their heads wreathed in flowers-- walked down the aisle in angelic blush and white- colored frocks before the bride made her grand entrance in a romantic Regency era-inspired creation, its beauty enhanced by a bouquet of pink-tinged roses.
Following their exchange of vows, the Count and Countess-- whose June 2008 engagement had been preceded by a five-year courtship-- danced the night away at a ball held in their honor.

Already pronounced husband and wife in a March 19th ceremony at the town hall in Paris' 7th arrondissement, the union between Prince Jean d'Orleans, Duke of Vendome and Philomena de Toros y Steinhart was blessed during a religious ceremony held on May 2, 2009.
Well-wishers standing outside Senlis Cathedral in Senlis, France witnessed a steady stream of royals, including Prince Guillaume and Sybille of Luxembourg, the Duke and Duchess of Wurtemberg, The Infanta Pilar of Spain and Prine Philippe and Mathilde of Belgium, stroll by before the bride stepped upon the blue aisle runner which would lead her to the altar.
Wearing an ornate Christian Lacroix creation accented with gold embroidery, a dainty blue bow sewn onto the garment harmonized with the baby blue outfits worn by the tiny attendants, who cared for the gown's train and the lace-edged veil which clung to the turquoise tiara atop the bride's blonde tresses.
Following the exchange of vows, the newlyweds and their guests gathered at Chateau de Chantilly for the reception.
Having been her Prince Charming for the past six years, on a summer's day in 2010 Daniel Westling will become Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland when he pledges his everlasting love to Crown Princess Victoria, the Swedish Royal Court has announced.
Shortly after the happy news was conveyed to the people, the heiress apparent and her intended appeared at a press conference, where the beaming bride-to-be proudly displayed the diamond solitaire that now graces her ring finger as the couple relived the story of an outdoor proposal on bended knee at Drottningholm, The Local reports.
Sweden will have double the reason for celebration in 2010, as the country will also mark the 200th anniversary of the House of Bernadotte's reign.

According to the BBC, a two year courtship has led to the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's proposal on Valentine's Day.
Although Kensington Palace proclaimed the happy news that the pair will pledge their love during the calendar year, an exact date for their impending I do's has yet to be announced.
