BRIDE'S May/June Cover Model Dates a Drummer in a Rock Band and Says She's Too Young to Be Engaged - a Far Cry From Her Betrothed TV Role NEW
YORK, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- BRIDE'S current cover model, actress
Rachel Boston, says she is most touched by the impact she has
on women today who can relate to her TV character as a wartime
bride on NBC's Emmy-winning drama American Dreams. Boston says
"it is easy to forget that so many people have loved ones
very far away" and with many brides-to-be who have a future
spouse deployed over seas (or are deployed themselves), Boston
says "you realize how relevant the whole show [American Dreams]
is today. She
adds, "On the show, my family's idea of a wedding is very
different from mine and [my fianci]." Boston also says that
at her TV character's college, there is frequent talk about being
engaged, which she believes was the norm back then because women
made marital commitments at such a young age. And
how did it feel for Boston to step out of character for a while
and dress up as a contemporary bride? "I loved it!"
says Boston. "Everywhere I go nowadays, people try to put
me in sixties stuff. And I have to remind them that I live in
the year 2004, too!" Boston
says she may have freaked out her real-life boyfriend, Third Eye
Blind drummer Brad Hargreaves while "doing her homework"
flipping through several issues of BRIDE'S magazine. However,
she says her mother had a different idea about the photo shoot,
"My mom [said] 'It would be so much easier if you could just
pick out your wedding dress now, while you're there trying them
on.'" For more information visit www.brides.com.
