Once a member of the world’s most fab foursome, Sir Paul McCartney became one-half of a duo on October 9, 2011 as he said “I do” to his love of the past four years, Nancy Shevell.
Realizing that “All You Need is Love,” the former Beatle exchanged vows with his bride in a simple afternoon ceremony held at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall. The venue where he wed first wife Linda Eastman 42 years ago now holds another loving memory for the famed musician as he celebrated the birth of a new life with the woman he loves on a day which marks the birthday of the groom’s former bandmate, John Lennon. The stars’ past was also present in the presence of fellow former Beatle Ringo Starr with his wife Barbara Bach, and Olivia Harrison, the widow of George Harrison.
Making their day a family affair, both the bride and groom donned designs by Stella McCartney while little Beatrice– McCartney’s daughter with second wife Heather Mills– wearing a halo of floral finery, made an angelic appearance as the flower girl.
Following the nuptials, a shower of rode petals blessed the newlyweds’ union as they exited the Town Hall and made their way to the reception, where the happy couple– who now wear Neil Lane wedding bands (hers a platinum eternity band topped with square-cut diamonds, People magazine reports) dined on vegan fare and two wedding cakes created by Posh Puds Patisserie.
