Katy Perry is accustomed to being at the top of the charts, and now the “Teenage Dream” singer is on top of the world after exchanging vows with Russell Brand.
Although “I do” details are few and far between, the press is privy to the fact that the happy couple– who became betrothed on New Year’s Eve in India– were pronounced husband and wife during the early evening hours of October 23, 2010 by a Christian minister who is a friend of the bride’s family.
Eighty guests gathered at the Aman-I-Khas resort in India’s Ranthambore National Park to witness the groom ride in on an elephant at the start of a ceremony which featured sitar, tabla and kettle drum music.
Although wedding photos have yet to be revealed, reports indicate that the bride slipped into a sari for the ceremony (with US magazine revealing that Ms. Perry has a plethora of bridal attire for the event, including wedding wear by Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad and Donna Mizrani), while the groom, who honored the Indian tradition of henna-decorated hands, wore a buff-toned kurta-pyjama, according to the Times of India.
