At the same Chicago club where their friendship began during an open mic night six years ago, American Idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox and musician Brian Walker took their first step toward a lifetime of making beautiful music together as they said “I do” on October 10, 2010.
According to People magazine, 60 family members and friends– including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Lance Barber and American Idol alum Didi Benami– witnessed the bride pledge her devotion in a unique nuptial number composed of cotton and hemp highlighted by macrame, seashells and beading which was created by Tara Lynn, an eco designer whose ‘green’ gowns appeared on Miss Vermont on the TLC series Miss America: Countdown to the Crown. During the ceremony, the bride– who had accepted her love’s proposal only weeks before– received a wedding band designed by her groom, brought to fruition by Traci Coughlin and Steve Quick Jewelry and bore down the aisle by the reality personality’s young son, Tony.
Wanting to share her blessings with others, Bowersox has requested that fans who wish to send a wedding gift should make a donation to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.)
