Carrie Underwood’s Dog To Be Ring Bearer at Wedding

Country crossover cutie Carrie Underwood made friends with a fan of the four-legged variety at the Bidawee Manhattan Shelter on March 30, 2010. The paparazzi magnet is a pal to pets, donating $10,000 to the shelter as she used her star wattage to shine a spotlight on Pedigree’s 6th annual Adoption Drive. For each new Pedigree Facebook fan, the dog food brand is donating a bowl of food for shelter pets. The drive will continue through December 31, 2010.

As the proud parent of a Rat Terrier named Ace, the Grammy-winning bride-to-be had no trouble bonding with the pup chosen to pose with her for the photo op. The chart-topper confided to reporters that her own darling dog will be with her on the day she and Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher say “I do”: “If I was getting married and I had a child, of course my child would be the wedding. Ace is such a big part of my life.” The singer, like recent reality TV bride Bethenny Frankel, has chosen her Rover to be one of the ring bearers at her upcoming ceremony.

It also looks as though Ace may be getting a new barking buddy in the future. Ms. Underwood confessed that she and her fiance are hoping to welcome a second Fido into their family at a later date, OK magazine reports.
