As the host of Project Runway Australia, Kristy Hinze has helped to shine a spotlight on some of today’s budding designers. For the most important dress she will ever don, however, the model turned to a fashion classic.
On March 23, 2009 the blonde beauty made her grand entrance on the white powder sands at Little Dix Bay Resort on the Caribbean island of Virgin Gorda in a strapless Oscar de la Renta creation, the rippling ruffles of the garment’s skirt mirroring the waves which rushed to shore as she walked toward the man she loves, Netscape founder Jim Clark.
Clutching a bouquet of green liliums, the bride strolled with her parents past a gathering of 120 friends and family members, including actors Edward Norton, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, the Herald Sun reports.
Her seven bridesmaids looking on, the woman of the hour and her intended– who became engaged in October 2008– were framed by an arch of pink and lilac-hued blossoms as they exchanged vows.
Following the nuptials, the bride’s diaphanous veil danced in the gentle sea breeze as the pair received the best wishes of their guests, who later toasted the newlyweds with Moet champagne at a reception aboard the groom’s yacht, the Athena.
