Each Monday through Friday, Juliet Huddy shines a spotlight on celebrities and the day’s hot topics on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. On January 23, 2009, however, it was the TV presenter’s turn to shine as she said “I do” to her love, Doug Barrett.
Sharing her happiness with her viewing audience just days after her walk down the aisle, the newly-pronounced Mrs. reminisced about a day which began with transcendental spa treatments to relax the wedding party before the ceremony commenced at the Tribeca Grand Hotel.
Donning rose-hued, strapless dresses, bridesmaids preceded the lady of the hour past family and friends, then the romantic refrain of the song “Falling Slowly” from the movie Once announced the arrival of the bride, whose diaphanous veil, which clung to blonde tresses coiffed into a chignon, floated delicately behind her as she strolled in a Harlowesque silhouette by Amy Michelson toward the groom.
After exchanging vows, Geraldo Rivera, FOX News reporter Laura Ingle and, of course, the bride’s co-host Mike Jerrick were among those to wish the newlyweds well during a reception which included a performance by American Idol season seven finalist Carly Smithson.
