Although their romance began to blossom on the other side of the world as they struggled for supremacy on Survivor: China, South Carolina natives Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman have decided that, when it comes to their wedding day, there’s no place like their home state. Once again stepping in front of the camera, the reality TV twosome, whose attempts at becoming the ultimate survivor were unsuccessful, are hoping that their luck has changed as the short video clip which chronicles their romance has been announced as a finalist in the Charleston Wedding Giveaway.
Currently living in Nashville, the prospective groom and his bride-to-be returned to Charleston under the pretense of a photo shoot, which Huffman set up as a prelude to a proposal which realitytvmagazine.com reports took place at the Battery, a historic area of the city graced with antebellum homes.
The couple have tough competition from three other entrants: Arkansas online lovebirds Deborah Singer and Craig Stuart, Illinois pair William Palmisano and Nicole Schiller, who tickle viewers’ funny bones with their idea of nightmare nuptials as well as their dream “I do,” and Houston’s Lisa McDonald and Andrew Nerlinger from Los Angeles, who created a cinematic-inspired clip. The winning couple will enjoy a three-day wedding weekend on April 3 – 5, 2009, featuring a bridal luncheon at High Cotton Restaurant, a rehearsal dinner at Middleton Place, a ceremony at the Wild Dunes resort and a honeymoon night at the Mills House Hotel.
