Although raindrops had christened their union during a civil ceremony at Schloss Kempfenhausen on July 14, 2008, the following day the weather mirrored the joy felt by German national team captain Michael Ballack and his newly-dubbed wife Simone Lambe as a religious blessing of their marriage was performed at the Bavarian Yacht Club.
Guests seated in rows of white chairs beneath a tent erected for the occasion rose in honor of Mrs. Ballack as the processional music began and the bride made her entrance. Choosing a white gown with illusion sleeves for the first exchange of vows, the mother of the soccer star’s three children donned an ornate creation in order to say “I do” to her love of the past 10 years a second time. Sparkling like rays of sunlight on the surface of Lake Starnberg, the gown’s crystal beading accentuated the bride’s slim waistline as she walked past family and friends, while the white feathers attached to the garment’s bodice which fluttered in the light breeze seemed to mirror the bride’s racing heart as she took her place by the groom at the start of the Catholic ceremony.
