Although high winds rattled the white tent erected on the grounds of La Mariposa ranch in Denver, Colorado on July 5, 2008, nothing could shake the resolve of singer Marisol Terrazas as she clutched a cascading bouquet of white flowers and began her walk toward her love of the past two years, businessman Rene Cervantes. Having stood at her sister’s side on stage for years as co-frontwomen of the regional Mexican band Horóscopos de Durango, it came as no surprise that Vicky Terrazas was awarded the role of maid of honor. Donning a strapless white dress embellished with a red sash, the bride’s singing sibling took her place by bridesmaids dressed in crimson gowns, while the woman of the hour stood at the altar in a strapless, curve-conscious creation, its beauty enhanced with the addition of a fingertip veil that danced in the wind as the couple said “I do.”
After a horse-drawn ride, the newlyweds were ready for a reception, where guests dined on traditional Mexican cuisine and slices of a lemon wedding cake. Accustomed to entertaining crowds as a part of a Billboard Award-winning band, on this evening the bride enjoyed performances by Polo Urias, Guasaveña de Velentin Elizalde and Los Capis as she danced the night away in her husband’s arms. According to People en Español, the lovebirds were soon to fly off on their honeymoon, which would include a stay in Mazatlan, Sinaloa.
