As candlelight danced on the facets of her bejeweled, white silk Elie Saab wedding dress, only the bride’s smile beamed brighter as Claudine Palmer walked down the aisle of St. Alphonus and Columba Church in Ballybrack, Dublin on June 7, 2008 toward her love of the past six years, Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane. According to the Irish Independent, soccer stars Ian Harte, Shay Given and Jamie Redknapp were among the guests to rise in her honor as the bride strolled past, her crystal-accented veil, attached to a 19th century tiara fit for a former Miss Ireland, gently brushing the aisle as she made her way to the altar, where the groom, dressed in a blue Thom Sweeney suit, waited to make her his wife.
Following the ceremony, in which the bride received a wedding band to accompany her 100,000 euro engagement ring, the newlyweds exited the hydrangea-filled church for a reception at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, the site of the couple’s four days of wedding revelry. Gathering beneath a tent erected on the property, family and friends danced the night away beneath the glitter of chandeliers.
A honeymoon getaway to Mauritius is next on the agenda for the newlyweds.
