The grounds of the Loch Lomond Golf Club became a fairway to heaven for golfing legend Colin Montgomerie as he took Gaynor Knowles for his wife on April 19, 2008. Starting his wedding day out on the green with his guests, the groom changed into a tartan kilt for the early evening ceremony.
Escorted down the aisle by her son, the bride– dressed in an off-white wedding dress designed with bejeweled straps and a plunging v neckline, clutched a bouquet of white tulips as she walked past the 340 friends and family members who stood in her honor inside the white marquee erected for the occasion, Hello magazine online reports. The gathered guests bore witness as she received a wedding band to accompany the diamond solitaire engagement ring from jeweler Timothy Hardie which has graced her hand since August 2007, when her love proposed at the site of their first date, the Strathhearn restaurant at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire.
Following the exchange of vows, guests dined on steak and salmon and danced to the sounds of the ABBA tribute group Bjorn Again at Rossdhu House, a Georgian era edifice on the golf club’s estate, near the ever flowing waters of Loch Lomond, which reflected the sparkle of fireworks as the reception reached its end.
