Since meeting on the set of his video for the single “Only You,” actress Katherine Heigl has been a musical muse for singer Josh Kelley, who poured his emotions not only into an ode to his love (“Katie’s Song”) but also into the melody that would escort his bride down the aisle on their wedding day– December 23, 2007. Inside a flower-adorned tent on the snow-sprinkled grounds of the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah, the bride’s sister, herself a newlywed, walked down the aisle with three bridesmaids all dressed in red Oscar De La Renta designs before a cello and guitar rendition of the Josh Kelley-penned tune heralded the arrival of the bride. According to OK! magazine online, approximately 80 guests, including the actress’s co-stars Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, T.R. Knight (who stood at the altar in the role of a groomsman) and Private Practice star Kate Walsh stood up from the rows of silver chairs in honor of the Grey’s Anatomy star when she walked past in a white Oscar De La Renta creation.
During the half hour ceremony in which the singer, his face illuminated by the flicker of candlelight, pledged his devotion and slipped a wedding band on his bride’s finger to accompany her 3-carat, pear-shaped diamond and platinum engagement ring from Ryan Ryan, the actress surely thought back to the night the groom asked for her hand in marriage at the same Venice Beach location where their love story began.
