110707: Wedding of Atlanta Braves Star Jeff Francoeur

On November 3, 2007, school teacher Catie McCoy smiled at the 500 friends and family members who stood up from the rows of wooden pews inside Peachtree Presbyterian Church in her honor as she began her walk down the aisle toward her high school sweetheart, Atlanta Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur, during an early evening ceremony, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The guests, many of whom had gathered at Turner Field’s 755 Club days before for a rehearsal dinner, bore witness inside the Atlanta, Georgia house of worship as the bride received a wedding band to accompany the round-cut diamond engagement ring she had sported on her finger since September 10, 2006, when the baseball star proposed during a production of “Beauty and The Beast” at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.

Although its days as the city’s premier hotel as passed, The Atlanta Biltmore’s ballrooms, with its Palladian windows and Corinthian columns, makes the building one of Atlanta’s most coveted venues for wedding receptions. Before heading out on their honeymoon trip to Mexico, the groom took his bride by the hand and led her out on to the Biltmore’s marble dance floor where, beneath the glow of a crystal chandelier, the couple swayed to a song that summed up their feelings that night– Sara Evans’ “I Could Not Ask For More.”
