93207: Beauty Queen’s Wedding in Switzerland

Clutching a bouquet of pale yellow and white roses, Miss Switzerland 2004 Fiona Hefti walked into Saint Peter’s Church in Ascona on the afternoon of September 29, 2007 to pledge her devotion in a religious blessing of her union to Christian Wolfensberger, her husband since their August 17, 2007 civil ceremony, Sonntags Blick online reports. The train of the bride’s white satin gown, which was paired with a dainty white lace bolero, gently swept the aisle as the beauty queen walked past family and friends, and her short veil framed her face as she smiled at the groom, who waited at the altar in a classic black tuxedo.

At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, a shower of yellow, pink and red rose petals cascaded down upon the newly-pronounced Mr. and Mrs., christening their love as they exited the house of worship and made their way to a reception at the Hotel Castello del Sole, a 16th century retreat near Lake Maggoria.
