Since opening its doors to the public in 1956, the One & Only Palmilla Hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico has welcomed a steady stream of celebrities, ranging from John Wayne, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in the retreat’s early days to the latest luminaries to stay in the 172- guest room sanctuary, “Fantastic Four” star Ioan Gruffudd and actress Alice Evans, who chose the hideaway for their September 14, 2007 wedding.
People magazine online reported that the bride walked down the aisle in an Armani creation designed with a strapless, form-fitting bodice which flowed into a skirt composed of waves of organza fabric, the gossamer material’s undulating movements reflecting the rolling water of the Sea of Cortez, which can be viewed from the hotel. The groom’s wool crepe suit, fashioned by the same designer, harmonized with the navy blue hue of the water as the couple declared their love. According to the site IcWales, actor Matthew Rhys, who currently stars in the ABC drama “Brother & Sisters,” stood by the groom in the role of best man.
The couple’s union is the fruition of a romance which began on the set of “102 Dalmations” and led to a New Year’s Eve proposal inside a bar in Cuba, where the Welsh actor celebrated the arrival of 2006 by slipping a diamond engagement ring into his love’s drink.
