092107: Duchess of Alba Attends Wedding in Seville

The Duchess of Alba, Carmen Martinez-Bordiu, was among the guests who gathered at the Iglesia Nuestra Senora de Granado in Seville, Spain in mid-September 2007 to witness the wedding of Rocio Peralta, the daughter of one of Spain’s most renowned toreadors, and Cayetano Garcia Soriano, Hola magazine reports. Before she entered the house of worship, a crowd of well-wishers that lined the street caught a glimpse of the bride in a Regency era-inspired gown created by Spanish designer Miguel Palacio, who fashioned the frock with capped sleeves, a scooped neckline and silver accents, it’s beauty enhanced with the addition of a Juliet cap which was fastened to a diaphanous veil. As the ceremony commenced, the garment’s chapel-length train gently swept the red carpet which led the bride from the entrance of the chapel to an altar where the groom waited to make her his wife.

Following the exchange of vows, junior bridesmaids in white dresses complimented with crimson sashes and matching head bands exited the church ahead of the bride, who clutched her bouquet of white roses as she and her new husband climbed into a horse-drawn carriage for the trip to their reception, a ride which the couple shared with their young attendants.
