Symbolizing that their two-year romance has blossomed into the promise of a lifetime of love, former “Dancing With The Stars” contender Laila Ali and retired NFL wide receiver Curtis Conway presented each other with long-stemmed pink roses at the conclusion of their wedding ceremony on July 22, 2007. Held beneath a wrought-iron gazebo in the rose garden of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey, California, the flowers’ romantic fragrance perfumed the air throughout the 20-minute ceremony, which began as the ring bearers and flowergirl, honors bestowed on the groom’s two sons and daughter, walked down the aisle ahead of bridesmaids in lavender Lazaro for Lili Bridal dresses, according to People magazine. Strolling past an assemblage of 200 friends and relatives, the IWBF Super Middleweight champion wore a strapless gown from designer Amy Michelson, (whose red-carpet creations have draped the silhouettes of Eva Longoria, Halle Berry and Selma Hayek), the garment’s champagne-hued silk charmeuse fabric accented with star-shaped broaches clipped at the waist, adding a touch of old Hollywood glamour to the occasion.
After the ceremony, the bride, still clutching her dainty bouquet of pink roses, posed for wedding photos alongside her new husband and the other love of her life– her famous father, Muhammad Ali. People magazine reports that the newlyweds will soon embark on a honeymoon trip to Tahiti.
