As dawn broke over the Belgian city of Bree on July 13, 2007, a new chapter in the life of tennis star Kim Clijsters began as she said “I do” to American basketball player Brian Lynch in an intimate civil ceremony, which was followed the next day by a religious blessing of their union. Wearing her hair in a classic chignon, the former tennis champion, who recently announced that she is starting a family with the man she loves, held a bouquet of calla lilies as she posed for wedding photos in a white gown designed with an illusion and lace-accented bodice. The groom looked dapper in a dove grey suit and white tie.

The couple, who became engaged in April 2006, celebrated their new marital status with family and friends on July 14, 2007 with a reception topped off with a fireworks display.
