“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker officially became Mr. and Mrs. on July 6, 2007, saying “I do” in a civil ceremony at City Hall in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. A white stretch limosine, which had driven the actress from her suite at the Park Hyatt Paris- Vendome to Coco Chanel’s private apartment for a final wedding dress fitting, bore the bride to the wedding venue. Pretty in a pink mini-dress embellished with black and white detailing by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, the TV star held a Lauren Merkin “Eve” clutch purse in one hand as she waved to admirers before entering the building, where she changed into a short white dress.
Soccer star Thierry Henry, who wed model Nicole Merry in a fairytale ceremony at Highclere Castle in July 2003, was among the group of family and friends on hand to congratulate the groom, while eight attendants, wearing stylish creations in cream, purple and pink, looked on as their friend tied the knot.
While the civil wedding ceremony is a requirement by French law, the couple received a religious blessing of their marriage on July 7, 2007 at the Church of Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois.
