062007: Eva Longoria To Wed at Vaux-le-Vicomte

As the celebrity wedding of the year draws near, San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker recently revealed to Le Grand Journal that he will present a wedding band to “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria to accompany her emerald cut, 248 diamond engagement ring at Vaux-le Vicomte, the 17th century residence of Nicolas Fouquet, whose fall from grace and subsequent incarceration became the inspiration for the classic Alexandre Dumas novel, “The Man in the Iron Mask.”

Although all eyes will be focused on the castle on July 7, 2007, the upcoming wedding festivities will not be the first time that Vaux-le-Vicomte has been bathed in Hollywood’s spotlight. The chateau, located in the town of Maincy, has long been a star of the silver screen, having appeared alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Man in the Iron Mask,” Kirsten Dunst in Sofia Coppola’s modern take on the life of French queen “Marie Antoinette,” and Diane Lane in her feature film debut, “A Little Romance.” Visitors can stroll among the many state rooms and structured garden annually from late March through mid-November, and again through the Christmas holidays.
