Emma Bunton, who rose to the top of the charts with girl group The Spice Girls, is now on top of the world after accepting a proposal from her love of the past 11 years, Jade Jones.
Celebrating her 35th birthday on January 22, 2011, the bride-to-be– who can currently be heard each Saturday as she hosts a UK radio program on Heart FM– received from the one-time lead singer of the boy band Damage the gift of a diamond engagement ring. The pop icon proudly showed off the sparkler the following day as she announced the happy news to fans while fulfilling her duty as a judge on Dancing on Ice, The Daily Mail reports.
Also taking to Twitter to relay the message of her impending marriage, the entertainer posted a Twitpic of her sparkler, stating: “Yahooooo I’m Engaged! Love you Jade! I’m a very happy lady!!” As well wishes poured in on the social networking site (including a Tweet from former band mate Melanie Chisholm, who declared “Mrs. Jones!!! Congratulations to you both and Beau and Bump. Love you all x x x”) Bunton replied “Thank you for all your lovely messages, I haven’t stopped smiling for days!!!!”
Presently awaiting the arrival of a second bundle of joy, former Baby Spice and her prospective groom have yet to announce a date when the “2 Become 1” in the bonds of matrimony.
