Caroline Wozniacki held the number one seed going into the 2010 U.S. Open, and she holds a top spot in the hearts of humanitarians for her recent charitable effort.
Through October 31, 2010, sports fans can bid on a racquet autographed by the tennis great to raise funds for JP/HRO, the Haitian relief organization founded by Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn, which bought medical supplies and doctors to the people of Haiti in the days following the January 2010 earthquake and is now giving aid to the more than 55,000 people living at Petionville Camp since the devastating natural disaster.
The tennis racquet is currently on display at the front desk of The St. Giles Hotel New York-The Court at 130 East 39th Street, where bids can be placed. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to JP/HRO.
