The summer of 2010 has become the season of royal romance. Just days after Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden declared her devotion to her love Daniel Westling, two of the wedding’s attendees have announced their intention to walk down the aisle.
The regal rock now resting on the ring finger of Charlene Wittstock is a symbol of the love shared between the former South African swimmer and Albert II, Prince of Monaco– the son of the late silver screen legend Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier. The pair, whose love story began four years ago, made the announcement at the Palais de Monaco.
The bride-to-be’s engagement ring from Maison Repossi– composed of a gray gold band crowned by a pear-shaped center diamond and round diamond brilliants, People magazine reports– will be paired with a wedding band in the summer of 2011. The couple will be legally united in marriage in a civil ceremony conducted within palace walls, followed by a religious blessing of their union at Notre Dame of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Monaco. As the wedding will be televised, royal watchers can share in the joy of the day with the bride and groom.
