Growing Pains star Alan Thicke began “sharin’ the laughter and love” with wife Tanya Callau on May 7, 2005. Lovetripper takes a look back at the couple’s “I do” day, which was held at The One & Only Palmilla Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Making last minute preparations prior to pledging her devotion, the model proudly showed off the wedding dress she would soon don for her I do’s. An Oscar de la Renta creation, the ruffled hemline and comb worn in the bride’s hair added a soupcon of Spanish flare to the bridal attire.
A bridal bouquet bursting with color took center stage among a palette of pale hues as the bride posed for posterity with members of her wedding party.
Just like the lyrics to Growing Pains, Alan Thicke (wearing an ivory linen Ralph Lauren suit for the ceremony) and Tanya Callau have been “the luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin'” since the pair exchanged vows on the grounds of The One & Only Palmilla. The couple were framed by a flower-bedecked arbor during the wedding, and a path of sunshine yellow petals guided the pair’s first steps together as husband and wife.
Following the ceremony, the newly-dubbed Mrs. flashed the sparkler that now rested on her finger. As engraving on the Alan Thicke’s wedding band was not complete, the bride slipped the star’s ring from his series Growing Pains on his finger.
In the ballroom of the One & Only Palmilla Resort, the newlyweds sliced into a wedding cake concocted of three separate tiers.
