"Mad Men" Star Christina Hendricks' Wedding

Both friends and fans are accustomed to the sight of actress Christina Hendricks dressed in designs from the early 1960's for her role in the AMC hit series Mad Men, but on October 11, 2009 the TV star donned a Carolina Herrera creation that married classic and contemporary styles for her "I do" to Geoffrey Arend, People magazine reports.

Guests gathered at Il Buco restaurant in New York City may have felt as though they had passed through a time portal as they watched bridesmaids walk down the aisle in designs that evoked an earlier era. Their individuality displayed in each garment, dresses ranged from a scarlet silhouette to porcelain blue paired with illusion, while feathered fascinators clung to their coifs. In contrast, the bride's alabaster skin was bathed in an ivory fils coupe design which showcased her hourglass frame, while a lace-edged veil added an ethereal element to her Titian tresses.

Harmonizing with the fall foliage of her bouquet, a pair of russet-hued shoes carried the bride to her groom at the start of a ceremony in which the actress-- holding out a hand decorated in mendhi designs-- received a platinum Tacori wedding band sprinkled with pave-set diamonds to accompany her vintage engagement ring.

Tacori is a great brand and has very interesting - and glamorous - designs. And platinum is THE premium metal for wedding bands.

Have you ever wondered where platinum comes from? Or what goes into extracting platinum from the earth for your engagement ring, wedding band or jewelry? Here is an insightful article about the platinum mining experience - http://www.novelldesignstudio.com/articles/south_africa_the_platinum_experience.html
