Celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary on August 21, 2009, no doubt the sight of Andrea Corr in bridal attire brought back happy memories to U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali Hewson as they, along with more than 400 guests, rose from the pews of St. Joseph’s Church in Milltown Malbay, County Claire, Ireland as The Corrs band member began her walk down the aisle toward the man who leaves her “Breathless,” Brett Desmond.
Acting as bridesmaids, the lady of the hour’s sisters Sharon and Caroline Corr– clad in lavender-hued gowns– looked on as their sibling stood at the altar in a strapless, ivory creation by Vera Wang. During the ceremony the bride received a wedding band to accompany an engagement ring worth 70,000 euros which has graced her finger since saying “yes” to a proposal on Christmas Day 2008 at the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, the Daily Mail reports.
