“One crowded hour of glorious life is worth an age without a name.”– Sir Walter Scott
A poignant reminder to seize the day, ’70’s icon Farrah Fawcett has decided to grasp her crowded hour, spending each precious moment with the man who has asked for her hand so many times before over the years– actor Ryan O’Neal, the New York Daily News reports.
Having already been a presence in each other’s lives off and on for more than a quarter of a century, the couple– whose love story has produced one son (Redmond)– have formed a bond which has only been strengthened as the former Charlie’s Angels star has raged a battle against cancer over the past three years. As no one is ever guaranteed tomorrow, the actress has now decided to honor their commitment to each other by saying “I do,” O’Neal has relayed in an interview with Barbara Walters, which will air on the news program 20/20.
UPDATE: Although together in both sickness and in health over the years, marriage was not meant to be for Farrah Fawcett and her longtime love, Ryan O’Neal. Days after accepting O’Neal’s proposal, the TV icon passed away on June 25, 2009 at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
