Offering both fond childhood memories as well as recent recollections of family life, the beauty of Bermuda often beckons to silver screen legend Michael Douglas. Exchanging Hollywood’s spotlights for the sun’s beaming rays, the Academy Award winner and his Oscar-winning wife Catherine Zeta-Jones have both been residents of the island since 2001 although Douglas’s family history goes back much earlier.
Stepping into the roles of chairpersons, the two Tinseltown titans attended the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony at Bermuda’s new luxury sanctuary, Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa, in early May 2009. A gala held at the 88-guestroom and suite serene retreat–Bermuda’s first major new property in 37 years–helped to raise funds for Bermuda’s King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project.
