22809: Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden Engaged

Having been her Prince Charming for the past six years, on a summer’s day in 2010 Daniel Westling will become Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland when he pledges his everlasting love to Crown Princess Victoria, the Swedish Royal Court has announced.

Shortly after the happy news was conveyed to the people, the heiress apparent and her intended appeared at a press conference, where the beaming bride-to-be proudly displayed the diamond solitaire that now graces her ring finger as the couple relived the story of an outdoor proposal on bended knee at Drottningholm, The Local reports.

Sweden will have double the reason for celebration in 2010, as the country will also mark the 200th anniversary of the House of Bernadotte’s reign.
