21609: Olympian Amanda Beard Engaged

Acclaimed swimmer Amanda Beard, a seven-time Olympic medalist, has announced that she is ready to dive into matrimonial waters with the man she loves, US magazine reported.

Photographer Sasha Brown, who looked through the eyes of love when he peered into the camera lens at the sports star during a photo shoot for Speedo three years ago, received a little help for his holiday proposal from St. Nick.

Celebrating Christmas Day in their Tucson, Arizona home, the prospective groom slipped a tiny Tiffany box into the sack of a Santa Claus statue. Inside was an engagement ring that the bride-to-be proudly showed off on February 13, 2009 while participating in The Heart Truth’s annual Red Dress Collection Fashion Show.

The happy couple are currently planning an April walk down the aisle.
