74908: Sylvester Stallone and Family Take European Vacation (Photo)

Although best known for his acting and writing skills, silver screen star Sylvester Stallone, who has long had a passion for painting, savored the opportunity to let his artistic eye wander over the masterpieces housed in the Capitoline museum in Rome during his July jaunt to the Italian capital. Designed by Michelangelo, Sly and his family walked through the Piazza de Campidoglio on their way to the cluster of museums which line the square for a face-to-face encounter with the bronze bust of Emperor Constantine I.

Playing a prominent role alongside Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in the 1953 romantic romp Roman Holiday, the Spanish Steps is a site with its own star quality. According to Hello magazine online, the Hollywood heavyweight, his wife Jennifer Flavin and their three children climbed the 138 stone slabs as they enjoyed a shopping spree. Taking a break on the steps from their perusal for purchases, the movie icon could gaze at the splashing waters of La Fontana della Barcaccia and the Keats-Shelley House, where poet John Keats spent his last months of life. Today a museum, the structure contains a treasure trove of romantic memorabilia ranging from strands of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's hair to poetry penned by Oscar Wilde.

Days before embarking on their Italian vacation itinerary, the 1970's king of the box office was in France paying a visit to the former abode of the Sun King, the Palace of Versailles. After strolling in the footsteps of Louis XIV, Madame de Pompadour, Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI, Stallone ventured into the heart of Paris and its most beloved landmark, the Eiffel Tower, where the star of Rocky and Rambo, his wife and daughters mulled over the menu at Le Jules Verne restaurant before returning to their regal accommodations at the George V Palace Hotel.

Wedding Photo: Elizabeth Taylor and Nick Hilton, 1950

On May 6, 1950 the strains of "The Wedding March" was the cue for guests inside The Church of The Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills to rise from the pews as Elizabeth Taylor made her grand entrance in a white satin wedding dress created by MGM studio designer Helen Rose, who would go on to construct bridal attire for another queen of the silver screen when Grace Kelly became the wife of Prince Rainier. The look of the gown would create movie magic soon after the bride's walk down the aisle, as the silver screen beauty had donned bridal attire almost identical to her own "I do" design for the comedy Father of The Bride.

Standing at the altar was Hilton Hotel heir Conrad "Nicky" Hilton, Jr. The couple parted ways in January 1951.

Wedding Photo: Prince Charles and Princess Diana On Balcony of Buckingham Palace

A courtly buss on the hand would later be followed by a proper kiss as the newly pronounced Diana, Princess of Wales and her prince stood on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after their July 29, 1981 wedding ceremony.

Images captured of the moment also reveal details of Princess Diana's wedding dress. Constructed of ivory silk, the David and Elizabeth Emanuel creation is sprinkled with 10,000 pearls and mother of pearl sequins and lavishly accented with Carrickmacross lace, which was originally a present to Queen Mary from the Royal School of Needlework. While the gown's 25-foot-long train and lace-edged veil were the hallmarks of a royal bride, Diana's wedding dress also contained more intimate items, including a small blue bow (her "something blue") and a diamond-bedecked gold horseshoe for good luck.

A wedding dress with such "wow" factor needed a bouquet to make an equally impressive impact. When Diana walked down the aisle of St. Paul's Cathedral she had carried with her a cluster of yellow Mountbatten roses, gardenias, stephanotis, orchids, lily of the valley, freesia, and cuttings of myrtle and veronica from Osborne House-- a royal tradition observed since the days of Queen Victoria.

Wedding Photo: Princess Diana On Her Way To St. Paul's Cathedral

The eyes of the world were upon 20-year-old former nanny Diana Spencer as a Glass Coach left Clarence House, the residence of the Queen Mother, and made its way through the streets of London. Peering through the same window just as Princess Elizabeth (today Queen Elizabeth) did on her wedding day in 1947, the bride waved to the spectators that lined the way to St. Paul's Cathedral as an estimated 750 million television viewers shared in the happy occasion.

Her carriage reaching its destination at 11 A.M., a crowd that had held its collective breath in anticipation let out a thunderous cheer as Diana stepped out from her ride in a pair of gold-gilded, ivory silk Baboucha slippers, revealing for the first time the silhouette of her Emanuel wedding dress.

Photo: Looking Back at Prince Charles and Diana Spencer's 1981 Engagement

Although nothing could match the sparkle in her eyes that day, the play of light on Diana Spencer's engagement ring came in a close second. Purchased from Garrard Jewellers, deemed the Crown Jeweller since the time of Queen Victoria, the ring featured an oval blue sapphire embraced by 14 small diamonds. The couple, who became engaged on February 6, 1981 in the nursery at Windsor Castle, according to Andrew Morton's book Diana Her True Story, accepted the well wishes of the press on the 24th of the same month as the official announcement was made from Buckingham Palace that the heir to the throne had chosen a bride.

74308: Celebrity Wedding Cakes

Looking for the perfect cake to add just the right ingredient to your wedding reception? Sample the confectionery tastes of the following notable newlyweds from yesterday and today for inspiration:

"Love is like a butterfly...it settles upon you when you least expect it." This anonymous quote seems to have been written with Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon in mind. The couple's love, which caught the world by surprise, led to a wedding ceremony held on the sands of Windemere Island in the Bahamas, followed by a seaside reception featuring a four-tier wedding cake adorned with sugar bows and the multi-Grammy Award winner's trademark butterflies. According to Food & Wine, the chocolate blackout creation enhanced with bittersweet chocolate and toffee ganache was produced by cake designer Margaret Braun, whose cake frosting also wowed the crowd at Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's wedding.

Taylor And Hilton
Observing a time-honored tradition, Elizabeth Taylor fed her newly-pronounced first husband Nick Hilton a slice of a five-tier wedding cake adorned with a wedding bell cake topper following their May 1950 walk down the aisle at The Church of The Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills. Still in her white satin Helen Rose bridal attire, the shining star of the MGM studio and her groom greeted an array of cinema stars, including Roddy McDowall, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Mickey Rooney, Spencer Tracy and Joan Bennett as they arrived for a reception at The Bel-Air Country Club.

Following their I do's on the grounds of Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas, guests at the wedding of First Daughter Jenna Bush and Henry Hager sat down to a Lone Star-sized feast featuring shrimp Mexicali, fried Gulf Oyster tostadas, Rio Grande flat iron steak and snapper, according to Special Events.com. The mouth-watering menu was topped with a four-tier tres leches cake-- the work of the Ultimate Cheesecake Bakery in San Antonio.

As their web site proudly proclaims, LaStarr Cakes & Co. offers its clientele "a galaxy of cakes that are out of this world!" The Ventura, California bakery was a fitting choice for actor Jason Behr, who portrayed a teen not of this earth on the sci-fi cult series Roswell, when ordering a wedding cake for his November 2006 nuptials to Private Practice cast member KaDee Strickland. Following their ceremony at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, the happy couple dined on slices of a three-tier treat made with cream cheese filling and maple mousse.

Dressed in a number 9 jersey, a figurine of basketball great Tony Parker was perched next to a miniature Eva Longoria atop of the couple's four-tier vanilla bean pound cake from Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings. Edible red roses wreathed each layer of the perfect pastry, which was filled with crushed organic raspberry preserves and white buttercream.

Although she dubbed her music label Red Velvet Cake records, former Roswell star Majandra Delfino and her actor husband Devon Gummersall (My So-Called Life, Quarterlife) chose a lavender-infused, red-chili-truffle wedding cake adorned with white icing-- a triple-tiered creation concocted at Dragonfly Cafe and Bakery in Taos, New Mexico. For fans interested in tasting some of the confectionery's treats, boxes of red chili infused chocolate truffles, a special breakfast blend coffee and other dietary delights can be ordered online from the Dragonfly Cafe's web site.

Harmonizing with the simple beauty of a barn interior in Hillsboro, Oregon, a three-tier tiramisu cake draped in buttercream icing added down home flavor to the nuptials of One Tree Hill cast member Bethany Joy Lenz and musician Michael Galcotti. The couple's celebratory confection was made by Beaverton Bakery, which has created post-ceremony sweets for lovebirds since 1925.

After Grey's Anatomy's Katherine Heigl and musician Josh Kelley's ceremony at the Stein Ericksen Lodge, Kate Walsh and T.R. Knight were two of the guests to sample the three-tier white chocolate and lemon curd wedding cake created by Heather Berntsen of Ambrosia Exquisite Wedding Cakes of Layton, Utah.

Following a post-nuptial feast of chicken with sichuan pepper, roast king fish, pepper steak, roast pumpkin and mascarpone ravioli, guests at the reception of tennis ace Leyton Hewitt and former Home and Away cast member Bec Cartwright still had room for slices of an eight-tier, white and dark chocolate treat by Planet Cake, an Australian bakery that adorned the layers with delicate sugar roses and plumeria.

An ode to opulence, the 600 pound, 12 foot tall cake created by German bakers created considerable awe from attendees of Ivana Trump and Rossano Rubicondi's wedding.

A trail of crimson flowers cascaded down five tiers of frosting like the Man of Steel's cape on Superman Returns star Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford's wedding cake. The product of NancyKay's Confections, the Century City, California cake designer's creations are a staple on the Hollywood scene, having appeared on the vow renewal episode of Father Hood with Snoop Dogg as well as the Days of Our Lives "I do" between Sami and Lucas.

Like the folds of her Austin Scarlett for Kenneth Poole wedding dress, icing draped over the five-tier, flower-festooned wedding cake which The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member Lauri Waring and her new husband George Peterson sliced into after their back yard wedding. The delectable design was the creation of The Cake Studio's Linda Goldsheft, whose delectable designs have also made the nuptials of Holly Robinson-Peete, Kelsey Grammer and Jay McGraw that much sweeter.

A lemon and coconut cake concocted by Rosebud Cakes was waiting for 24 cast member Marisol Nichols and her new director husband Taron Lexton following their April 13, 2008 ceremony at the Church of Scientology's Celebrity Centre in Los Angeles.

74208: "CSI: Miami" Star Eva LaRue Engaged

The droplets that tumbled down Victoria Falls seemed to form the image of a bridal veil and a rainbow born of the landmark's mist marked a bright future ahead for CSI: Miami star Eva LaRue as she accepted the proposal of Joe Cappuccio at the base of the world's largest waterfall.

Confiding to OK magazine recently, the actress spoke of her 4-carat diamond engagement ring which her love since the autumn of 2007 slipped on her finger one May 2008 afternoon following an exotic elephant ride and a helicopter tour over the same falls where the couple were officially betrothed. Currently planning their summer 2009 ceremony, the lovebirds are still undecided as to the venue for their vows.

Celebrity Wedding Photo: Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew' s Wedding in 1986

Mirroring the joy in her heart that day, Sarah Ferguson's silk tulle veil danced in the breeze as she stepped out of a glass carriage to the thunderous cheers of wellwishers who had gathered outside of Westminster Abbey on July 23, 1986 in order to be among the first to glimpse the bride's wedding dress. A fairytale frock composed of ivory duchess satin, designer Lindka Cierach created a 17-foot, 6 inch train which trailed behind the bride as she was escorted down the aisle by her father toward the man she loved, Prince Andrew. Marking her transformation into The Duchess of York, the halo of roses, gardenias, lily petals and lilies-of-the-valley which graced her head at the start of the ceremony was removed once the bride and groom were pronounced husband and wife, revealing a decidedly more regal accessory-- a diamond tiara.

While their marriage was not to stand the test of time, their union not only produced two daughters which are the lights of both their lives, it also created a lasting friendship between the former couple, whose love and respect for each other carry on to this day.

73608: Zac Efron Back at Work After Romantic Getaway in Turks and Caicos (Photos)

Travelers traipsing through LAX International Airport on July 20, 2008 may have been lucky enough to catch sight of High School Musical dreamboat Zac Efron as he walked through the terminal. While his luggage held clothes from his quick trip to New York City, it was not so long ago that the heartthrob had packed his bags with swim trunks and sunscreen for a romantic rendezvous with his leading lady both on screen and off, Vanessa Hudgens.

The internet recently sizzled with snaps taken of Tinseltown's hottest twosome on the white sands of Malcolm's Beach at the Amanyara Resort, a retreat accustomed to the arrival of famous faces, including TV star LisaRaye, who chose the Caribbean sanctuary for her April 2006 wedding ceremony to Chief Minister of the Turks and Caicos Michael E. Misick. Meaning "peaceful place," the 40-pavilion paradise offers its guests Asian and Mediterranean-inspired menus and an expanse of azure ocean in which to scuba dive and kayak, just two of the pastimes enjoyed by the screen's cutest couple, In Touch magazine reported.

Although their July jaunt to the Turks and Caicos is a now just a memory, the pair's lingering tans, still evident on the smiling faces of Zac and Vanessa, who picked up her sweetheart at the airport, are a playful reminder of their fun in the sun.

73508: Lady Rose Windsor's Wedding

Rising from her pew inside the Queen's Chapel in London on July 19, 2008, happy memories of her own recent walk down the aisle no doubt brought a smile to the former Autumn Kelly as she stood by Peter Phillips' side and watched Lady Rose Windsor as she made her grand entrance on the arm of her father, the Duke of Gloucester. Wearing a classic white gown created by Franka Couture, the London design house which also produced Davina Windsor's lace-accented, cream-hued bridal attire for her Kensington Palace wedding ceremony in July 2004, the bride swept passed Princess Anne, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Lady Sarah Chatto and Kate Middleton, who will possibly be the next to enter into the royal fold, as she made her way to the altar, where George Gilman, her fiance since November 2007, waited to make her his wife.

During the ceremony the bride (whose name may be familiar to movie buffs from its appearance by the title "art assistant" in the credits for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and her groom listened intently as Lady Sarah Chatto and Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, who had guided to bride through the years in their roles as godparents, gave readings, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Following the exchange of rings, the newlyweds were greeted with a shower of rose petals which christened their love as they left the church.

Projecting an image more of a businessman than rock's reigning bad boy, the groom donned a three-piece suit for the occasion, which he paired with tennis shoes, allowing a touch of his rebellious spirit to shine through.
