Ordinarily bathed in golden sunlight, raindrops trickled down the facade of Villa Durazzo on June 12, 2008 as Coleen McLoughlin arrived for her long-awaited wedding to soccer star Wayne Rooney. The couple were united in matrimony during a 20-minute civil ceremony inside the 17th century edifice, which had also been the chosen venue for rocker Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster to begin their lives together as husband and wife.
