In 2004, season two American Idol winner Ruben Studdard's faith-based album "I Need An Angel" reached the top of the gospel charts. Four years later the singer's prayers have been answered as the Velvet Teddy Bear applied for a license to wed his heaven-sent love Surata Zuri McCants, People magazine online revealed.

The Grammy-nominated singer and his fiancee paid a visit to the Shelby County Probate Office in Columbiana, Alabama on the afternoon of June 23, 2008. The entertainer has 30 days from the date to make Ms. McCants his Mrs.
